Ross WINs the last #FridayNightFights of 2017
He edged Marco out by 2 points

Zora joined us for the first time
Sophie returned again and climbed 7 spots from 20 to 13
Marco also climbed 7 spots from 15 to 8

This last fight of the year was not without controversy
What was it you ask?
The Score
Seems the server thinks everyone knows the score and should not SHOUT IT OUT before serving
Another teaching moment
The RULE states that the server must call out the score before delivering the next serve

And BTW, NOT calling balls OUT or IN is another cause for arguments

My suggestion to recievers if the server is not doing his job, is to CALL OUT THE SCORE so the server HEARS you.
If he hears and continues, he has agreed with the score...VERBAL contract

and Will made the biggest climb from 20 to 11

Marianne flew in from Jordan to fight
Sophie came in from the Main Line
and Cheryl is back after a long haitus

What a fun fight night
Will is back
Jeffrey is back....and WINs it
And Joanne is new to the fold

Steve though at #1, is pursued by Jeffrey and Ross for the top spot
Lauryn, a junior, is unassumingly climbing up the ladder
And Curtis made the biggest climb from 17 to 9

Last season Taylor, another junior was at the top for many, many weeks
I would watch out for the kids
They are slowly taking over

Tiger, who was part of our group YEARS ago, Curtis, ( I know his mom and sister) and Joe, all 6'3" of him

I was looking forward to being her partner but the draw kept us apart
We were never on the same court

Taylor made the biggest move from 14 to 6
And Lauryn moved from 15 to 9
The kids are taking over

I had the pleasure of playing and enjoyed every minute, especially the last round against Steve and Lauryn
Steve spun his racket and asked Mariah or Whitney?
Byron and I said, Whitney
We won the toss, elected to receive and everytime we won a point we broke into a Whitney song
My fave?
I get so emotional baby, everytime I lo-a-a-a-ob you - Whytney Houston

They were sick of us singing...badly
And I waited for them to break out into a Mariah number but who can reach those insanely high notes?

Steve is firmly planted in the #1 position this week
